Developed through the collaboration between AUTofthebox APS and the historic Pasticceria Corsino dal 1868 and Bellotart, the project enhances the local territory while creating real opportunities for neurodivergent people. It transforms an artisanal product into a meaningful act of value for the entire community.

The name Amygdala, which in ancient Greek means almond, also refers to the part of the brain associated with emotions. It is a powerful symbol that represents the connection between taste, sensitivity, and human experience.

Artisanal Sicilian Almond Pastries: Excellence with a Story to Tell

Amygdala almond pastries were born from an original idea by Andrea, a young person on the autism spectrum, who reinterpreted the traditional recipe with an innovative touch: oregano and coarse sea salt crystals. This surprising balance transforms a classic Sicilian pastry into a new and authentic sensory experience.

Andrea does not simply conceive the product; he actively participates in producing the biscuits alongside another young participant, becoming the protagonist of a concrete journey of personal growth and recognition of his abilities.

The pastry shop has also supported the communication of the project through its official channels.

Bellotart has contributed to shaping the visual identity of Amygdala, overseeing the graphic design, logo creation, and packaging development, translating the project’s values into a recognizable and coherent image.

This synergy between artisanal enterprise, creativity, and social commitment is a virtuous example of collaboration capable of generating shared value.

Social Inclusion in Sicily: A Project Born from a Real Need

At the heart of the Amygdala Project is the creation of an inclusive residential and work-oriented center surrounded by the natural beauty of Sicily. The project arises from the awareness that safe spaces, concrete opportunities, and ongoing support are often lacking for neurodivergent children and people, as well as for their families.

The objective is to provide a peaceful, structured environment where paths toward autonomy, dignity, and social integration can be built through daily activities, training, and work. Funds raised through the sale of Amygdala products will contribute to the creation of this dedicated space for people with autism spectrum disorder and people with Down syndrome.

The main areas of activity will include:
